The first considered piece for the cottage hallway, the back stair, the boot-room peg-rail.
Small, cheery, and unmistakably copper, Cheltenham is the wall light for the parts of the house that do not need a chandelier. The shade is a flared coolie-hat in highly polished electroplated rose-copper — the kind of mirror-bright finish that picks up the warm light of a cottage afternoon and gives it back doubled. Inside the shade, the same polished copper, so the bulb glow pools warmly down the wall. A short straight stem holds the shade out from a small circular wall plate, and at the joint sits a tiny knurled adjustment knob — the kind of detail you expect on a workshop fixture, not a decorative one. A clear amber Edison filament bulb hangs straight down through the centre, fully visible, doing the work.
Named for the Regency spa town on the edge of the Cotswolds, Cheltenham is sized for the rooms that ask for a small bright thing rather than a statement: the half-landing on a stair, the limewashed wall above a coat-hook rail in the back porch, the corner of a pantry beside a Belfast sink, the low-ceilinged guest WC. It is honestly an entry-tier piece — modest in scale, not the centrepiece of a room — and its job is the considered, useful one of putting a small, warm pool of light exactly where you need it.
Where it works best
The Cheltenham belongs on the exterior of a period property — beside a front door, flanking a porch, or illuminating a garden path. Its polished copper finish weathers gracefully over time, developing a natural patina. Equally at home on a sheltered interior brick wall in a kitchen or boot room.

Where it earns its place
Halfway up a Cotswold cottage staircase, on a stretch of warm cream limewash above the run of the balustrade. Above the oak peg-rail in a back porch or boot room, against terracotta or sage limewash, beside a row of waxed jackets and wellingtons. In a country kitchen pantry corner, above the Shaker peg-rail, with copper saucepans hanging beneath. In a small low-ceilinged guest cloakroom where a softer, warmer light is wanted than a downlight can give. Cheltenham is a happy first piece — and an honest one — for the rooms that want a polished detail without ceremony.
The considered first piece
Cheltenham sits at the entry tier of the ZYVORAN wall-sconce range, alongside the larger and more architectural Bayswater in brass and white, the Marlow scalloped brass dome, and the speakeasy Whitechapel gooseneck. Where those pieces are made for the panelled study, the powder room, the dressing room — Cheltenham is made for the working corners of the house. The kind of light you live with rather than admire from across the room.
